Ava who??
Whether we like it or not, we live in a world where we are constantly bombarded with everything that's going wrong. It seems as though it's something you can't get rid of. What excites me as an artist is knowing I can dive into the life and world of someone that is completely different from my own. It forces me to then see our world from a new perspective. I love that by living truthfully in these different stories, I can make an audience see the world in a different way as well. Even for just a couple hours, I know that I can help people leave our current world.
On my thirteenth birthday, my parents surprised my sisters and I with seeing Something Rotten on Broadway. I had seen Broadway shows before, but I was at that age where I started deciding what I was truly passionate about, and what was just a hobby. With these thoughts flowing through my head, I went in for what I thought would be just another show, but ended up being one of the most impactful moments of my childhood. For the first time in my life, I could feel the tangible energy erupting in the theater. After the show stopping number "A Musical," the entire audience leapt to their feet, and I felt as though I was levitating. For a moment, I was in that world, and was overcome with joy. In that moment, I told myself, that is what I need to do. I want to be the person that makes people feel overjoyed, overwhelmed, surprised, ecstatic; who makes people fall over laughing, or feel something they've never felt before. I need to make others truly feel, just as I felt that night.
I am a current Senior earning my B.A. in Acting and Directing from Baldwin Wallace University, with Minors in Music and Dance. I originally hail from Stamford CT, where I grew up with my triplet sisters, Livia and Franki, and was raised by my very Italian parents, Ramona Spinelli and Frank Mastrone. Not only did my parents inspire me to eat pasta and talk with my hands, but they also bestowed upon me their love of Theatre and the performing arts. Since starting my education at Baldwin Wallace, I've had the privilege of working not only at the University, but in theaters in the greater Cleveland area, including Great Lakes Theatre, Chagrin Arts Centre, and the Cleveland Shakespeare Festival.
